These fitting instructions are for information purposes only, it is essential that the brakes are replaced exclusively by authorized mechanics.
• REMOVE THE PINS OR SPRINGS THAT MAY KEEP THE PADS (IF EQUIPPED)
• DISMANTLE THE BRAKE CALIPER AND CAREFULLY PRESS THE PISTONS BACK INTO THE CALIPER BODY USING EITHER YOUR FINGERS OR THE OLD PADS.
• INSPECT THE DISC. WE RECOMMEND NOT TO USE NEW BRAKE PADS WITH A HEAVILY WARPED OR BADLY SCORED DISC. REPLACE THE DISC IF NEEDED.
• SCRUB THE CALIPER WITH A SOFT CLOTH AND A CLEANER (EX.: A MILD DISH-DETERGENT SOLUTION). GET ALL OF THE DIRT OFF OF THE PISTONS AND INSPECT THEM FOR RUST AND PITTING.
• INSPECT BRAKE FLUID CONDITION AND LEVEL. IF NEEDED, REPLACE IT. WE RECOMMEND CHANGING YOUR BRAKE FLUID EVERY 2 YEARS.
• DO NOT ABSOLUTELY USE ANY OILS OR GREASE THAT MAY GO IN CONTACT WITH THE DISC OR FRICTION MATERIAL: THIS WOULD AFFECT THE CORRECT PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
• FIT THE NEW PADS INSIDE THE CALIPER WITH THE FRICTION MATERIAL TOWARDS THE BRAKE DISC AND THE BACKING PLATE TOWARDS THE PISTON
• REFIT THE CALIPER ON ITS SUPPORT
• ACTIVATE THE BRAKE LEVER UNTIL TAKING INTO CONTACT PADS AND DISC
• BED YOUR NEW PADS IN WITH 20 to 25 STOPS FROM SUCCESSIVELY HIGHER SPEEDS (WE RECOMMEND STARTING SOME BRAKINGS AROUND 30km/h AND FINISHING THE BEDDING IN AROUND 100km/h) TO MATE THEM WITH THE DISC.
